Sex and The City – The Movie II > ‘Sex and the City 2′ Premiere in Tokyo – 6/1/10
I’ve updated the gallery with photos of Sarah Jessica Parker arriving at Narita Airport on May 30, 2010 in Narita, Japan!
“I read some bad reviews,” Field told UsMagazine.com. “They don’t get it. Men don’t get it.”
Field says people shouldn’t take the film so seriously. “It’s fun!”
UsMagazine.com readers agree. In a poll, 62 percent voted that the movie isn’t terrible.
Writer-director Michael Patrick King told Us , “I wanted it to be a big, extravagant party.”
“The whole movie is a feast for the eyes,” added producer John Melfi.
Despite the criticism, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) may be laughing all the way to the bank. The chick flick is expected to rake in $60 million over the holiday weekend, and has already earned $3 million from 12:01 showings Thursday morning in 2,000 locations — a 20 hike from the first movie’s opening night.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker and her fellow stars from “Sex and the City 2″ braved bad press reviews to step out Thursday for the movie’s British premiere.
Parker, who reprises her role as New York columnist Carrie Bradshaw in the sequel, walked down the red carpet in London’s Leicester Square in a dress by late fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
She was joined by Kim Cattrall, who plays publicist Samantha Jones, Cynthia Jones, who portrays Miranda Hobbes, and Kristin Davis, whose character is Charlotte York Goldenblatt.
Australian pop star Kylie Minogue was among other stars attending the premiere.
The latest installment of the saga, released in British cinemas Friday, sees the foursome swap the metropolis of New York for the dry deserts of Abu Dhabi, in scenes which were shot in Morocco.
The movie had its world premiere in New York on Monday.
“It was wonderful. We had the best experiences we have ever had — we lived together, ate together, even slept on couches together,” said Parker at Thursday’s premiere.
Despite much of the film taking place outside the Big Apple, she insisted the city still played a central role.
“The heart of the movie remains New York,” she told the BBC.
She also paid tribute to McQueen, one of the world’s most high-profile designers, who committed suicide in February.
“There’s only one person I could have worn tonight and that was Alexander McQueen. Lee, this is for you. I miss you very much,” she said.
While the television series “Sex and the City” was hugely popular, the latest film has disappointed the majority of critics.
Britain’s Times newspaper said: “Sadly this sequel is not ‘Sex and the City’ — it is ‘Menopause in the Desert,’ and a waste of four great characters.”
The New York Times was also unimpressed, saying: “Your watch will tell you that a shade less than two and a half hours have elapsed, but you may be shocked at just how much older you feel when the whole thing is over.”
Please note that they spelled Miranda’s name wrong, her name is Cynthia Nixon…. I would like to hear from “REAL” Fans and not critics who get paid to write bad press!
I have uploaded some appearance pics of the girls at UK Film Premiere at Odeon Leicester Square, they all look so gorgeous… not really keen on SJP’s hat but she rocks it anyway Enjoy the pics!
“[Michael Patrick King] told me the idea, and I said, ‘That sounds great.’ I think the fans enjoyed Aidan and Carrie and the Big triangle, and Michael Patrick King was really smart the way he worked it out,” John told MTV News.
Here are 2 other clips
The first clip takes place in season six right after Mr. Big chases Carrie all the way to Paris. We were swooning when he finally took a stand and decided to fight for his girl, and we loved them that much more when they both fell on the steps in a fit of laughter.
Contending against the Paris chase, is a scene from season four, in which Carrie comes home after a night out on the town to find home Aidan sitting in front of the TV with a big ole’ bucket of chicken. These two really couldn’t have been more different, but when Carrie walked over and took a seat on his lap (we swear it’s not nearly as sexual as it sounds!), we realized they couldn’t have been more right either.
So who do you think deserved Carrie’s heart?
I loved Aidan for Carrie! But Mr.Big had a soft spot for me too! It’s hard to choose.
I have been reading a lot of horrible reviews about SATC2…. I don’t trust reading reviews from an audience that’s not a die hard fan like we are. You cannot watch a movie that you have no idea about and write a review on it! We would love if we could get reviews from the fans and not read the garbage that the critics have to offer! I will unfortunately not be making it to the theater tonight So please be our eyes and ears
